Prevent Macular Degeneration

Worried about macular degeneration? Try filling your plate full of eggs and spinach! A recent study discovered two nutrients found in eggs, spinach and other leafy green vegetables can help protect against macular denegeration. Researchers followed more than 4,500 people between the ages of 60 and 80 years old. Those who ate foods full of the nutrients lutein and zeaxanthin had a 35 percent less chance of developing macular degneration. Other foods found to contain lutein and zeaxanthin include kiwi fruit, grapes, spinach, orange juice and zucchini. Age related macular degeneration affects over a million Americans -- a majority of them over age sixty-five. The condition gradually worsens, robbing victims of their vision. Add a few healthy items to your diet and you can protect yourself now!
