Take A Walk After Your Thanksgiving Meal

Researchers at the University of South Carolina in Columbia found that walking shortly after a meal is a highly effective way to burn energy. That means you're using some of the calories you just ate! A comfortable, ten minute walk 15-20 minutes after your meal is all it takes to stretch your muscles and adjust your metabolism. Keep your pace light and easy, a slow, sustained walk. Avoid walking briskly, especially if you've had a particularly large meal. The key is to enjoy yourself, stay healthy, and get your metabolism working. There's nothing like good company and conversation to enhance the pleasure of walking, so add an after-dinner walk to your family Thanksgiving memories!
