Maximize Weight Loss with Exercise!

Americans weigh more than ever and the formula for dealing with weight gain is getting tougher! Back in 1996 the Surgeon General recommended that all Americans get thirty minutes of moderate exercise every day. That's enough to burn about one thousand calories per week. However, average Americans weigh more now and thirty minutes a day just may not be enough! The Mayo Clinic suggests that at least 30 minutes of daily physical activity is a good general goal, but if you want to lose weight, maintain weight loss or meet specific fitness goals, you need to increase your activity. Research bears out the recommendation. Two test groups were put on weight loss plans with similar diets. One exercised thirty minutes per day, the other sixty. Weight loss was forty percent greater in the sixty minute group. That's a lot of payoff for a little extra time!
