Write It Down!

Pen and paper are powerful motivators in your fitness plan. One of the best ways to organize and commit to a fitness regimen and maintain that commitment it is to write it down. First, when you write something down on paper, you're physically making that investment. You've signed a contract with yourself. There will be times when you need to reaffirm that commitment. Second, you need to set goals, both short-term and long-term. Concentrate on the short-term ones first, and the long-term ones will take care of themselves. Going back from time to time and checking them, will help keep track of your progress and ensure that you don't lose sight of those written goals. Third, you'll have something you can be proud of: a record of all your hard work. Write down every rep, of every set, of every workout. Treat it like a diploma, or certificate of achievement. When you reach your goals, post it somewhere highly visible as a reminder of how far you've come.
