Every month 20 to 30 percent of American women suffer from premenstrual syndrome; different medications work to lessen symptoms with varying degrees of success. If you don't want to take medication, there could be hope in Chinese herbs. Researchers gave the herbs that regulate energy and blood to a group of nearly 35 hundred women. More than half of those who took the herbs reported less pain at that time of the month. The study also found the herbs reduced the recurrence of PMS over three months. Some of the herbs used included licorice root and cinnamon bark.
