Athletic Shoes

You like to jog, but you’ve often wondered how frequently should you replace your running shoes? You can spend a lot of money on shoes, from $50-to $150-dollars. No matter what they cost, it's just as important to replace them following extensive use.

A shoe can lose as much as 50-percent of its ability to absorb shock. According to Penn State University, you should replace running shoes every 350 to 500 miles. Likewise, replace walking shoes every 1000 miles; and replace aerobic shoes after six months of regular use.

When you buy a new pair of shoes, unlace, then re-tighten the strings weekly for the first month to maintain support.
