Training Gloves
Training gloves are a weight trainer's best friend. Ever notice people at the club wearing gloves for weight training? Is it really necessary?
A good way to get the most from your workout is to wear gloves when you train. Wearing gloves can help you in a number of different ways. First, they will improve your grip, especially during pulling movements when it's hard to keep the bar from slipping out of your hands.
They also provide support and stabilization when you push or press the weights away from the body. For maximum support, look for gloves that have wrist wraps built in. Make sure the gloves you buy are comfortable, and sized properly for your hand. They should feel snug, but be loose enough for you to flex your hand easily. Some models can be tossed in the wash with your clothes between workouts. Check with your local sporting goods store to see what is available.
