Peter's Principles - Exercise
Pump, then Jump
When your fitness routine includes pumping iron and doing cardiovascular exercises, which should you do first? And does it matter when it comes to burning calories?
I get that question a lot. Men's Health Magazine did an experiment to find out the answer. The athlete who lifted first, then did aerobics for 20 minutes burned a total of 371 calories, 107 were fat calories.
When the same person did the aerobics first, he burned a total of 346 calories with only 66 coming from fat. So, if your goal is to trim down, lift first before you do aerobics.
