Essential Health Tests for Men
There are five critical health tests every man needs to guard against some of the biggest health threats:
- A blood pressure test, which needs to be taken every 3- to 5-years, unless there is a family history of hypertension. Then it should be done annually.
- A blood cholesterol test. Every man should be tested by the age of 30 and every 3- to 5-years after that.
- A prostate examination. Men over 50 need to be checked every year. Men over 40 with family history of prostate problems need check ups annually. It can save your life.
- A colon screening for men 50 and older. A scope examines the lower part of the colon, where 90-percent of colon cancers are found
- A testicle self-exam. Testicle tumors are most common in men in their 20's and 30's. But if detected early, it's highly curable.
