Peter's Principles - Seniors

Fitness after 50

Which is more important for seniors, aerobic exercise, or strength training?

They're both important. I'm convinced that much of the disability, loss of function and loss of independence we see in the elderly is due to both low muscle and low aerobic fitness.

New research shows strength training builds muscle mass and improves functions. Even in the very elderly and disabled. So, it's never too late to get up and get movin' and truly enjoy the golden years.
