Grilled Red Onions
Ingredients:
4 medium red onions
2 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbs. Balsamic vinegar
2 tbs. soy sauce
1 tbs. olive oil
1/8 tsp. black pepper
Preparation:
- Microwave the beans on high for two minutes or steam until just done but still crisp.
- Cut 1/2 inch off the top and bottom of each onion. Peel and cut into 1/2 inch thick slices. Arrange in a single layer in a shallow dish.
- Combine remaining ingredients and pour over onions. Marinate for one to two hours, turning the onions once.
- Pour off the marinade and discard. Grill the onions for approximately 10 minutes, turning once.
HINT: Soak some toothpicks in water for 30 minutes and skewer the onion slices from the outside to the center. It will keep the rings from falling apart as you handle and cook the onions.
