John, help maybe as close as the nearest spice rack! A recent study finds that cinnamon may help type 2 diabetics improve their ability to stabilize blood sugar! Researchers find that cinnamon helps fat cells recognize and respond to insulin. Insulin is the hormone'removes excess sugar from the blood. In fact.. Cinnamon appears to increase the metabolism of glucose by a factor of 20! Other reports show that a compound in cinnamon makes fat cells more responsive to insulin. Mike from Redford emails asking about a diet for cancer survivors.
Mike, the proper diet is critical for good health after a bout with cancer! Think in terms of more plant, less animal! Research shows that 20 percent of cancers would have never happened to begin with if everyone ate five servings of vegetables per day. When choosing veggies-- use pigment as your guide! The darker the vegetable the more likely it is to have beneficial cancer fighting substances. Foods high in fat should be used sparingly. Medical experts recommend covering two thirds of your plate with plant based food, one third with meat and dairy products. Fat derived from some fish can also be beneficial when it comes to cancer survival. Consult your doctor for more information!

Artificial crab meat has almost no fat and virtually no heart heal thy omegas! It's usually made of ground alaskan pollock that's been washedstrained and flavored with salt and sugar. Once it's flavored and cooked it's formed to look like the real thing. But its pre-cooked so its much less perishable than crab. Real crab or fake? It all depends on the health benefits you're after!
