Sparkling Water

Drinking expensive sparkling water is in vogue. But is it healthier than tap water? Even though most people know the benefits of water, more often the trend is toward drinking sparkling or carbonated water.

After a good workout it's important to replenish fluids. A recent study in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition found bubbles in a carbonated drink actually makes you drink less! For that reason, you may want to avoid carbonated water, at least during workouts.

Think about this. It's important to drink 3 ounces of water every 20 minutes while exercising. And a person should drink half of their ideal body weight every day. It's just easier to tank up on the regular variety than with some fancy sparkling brand.

So, don't waste your money with expensive designer water. Drink a sports drink, fruit juice, or nature's champagne, good ole' H20.
