Glycemic Index
G-I is short for glycemic index, a measure of how fast your body absorbs carbohydrates and increases blood sugar. It's best to avoid high G-I foods like jam and white bread before working out. Try eating low G-I foods like wild rice, pasta, or beans. That's because they produce a slower, sustained release of sugar. And that's good for your overall health!
However, what about performance during your workout? The most conclusive study shows that glycemic levels have little or no effect. Research indicates that focusing on a low G-I can provide long-term benefits for your health!
