Drink Up

You know you’re supposed to drink 8 glasses of water a day, but are you replacing the H20 with coffee and soda pop?

The person who drinks 8 glasses of fluid per day, including coffee, tea, caffeinated soft drinks and alcohol, is getting a net fluid intake of approximately 3 glasses of liquid! That's because these other beverages are considered diuretics, which means five glasses of fluid are being flushed out of the body with no real nutritional benefit to you.

So, my advice: every 8-ounce caffeinated beverage consumed should be replaced with 8-ounces of fluid that does not contain caffeine.
