Peter's Principles - Nutrition

Control the Flow

When downing glasses of your favorite libations remember booze is not as jolly as it seems.

Keep these things in mind when it comes to liquor. Alcoholic drinks dehydrate you, taking important fluid as well as vitamins and minerals out of your body. They will also slow your metabolism. Furthermore, booze is high in calories! Alcohol has 7 calories per gram; that's almost as many calories as fat, which has 9 calories per gram. Don't forget, alcohol is also toxic on the liver and kidneys if heavily consumed.

Finally, booze literally makes you less smart by killing brain cells. So enjoy yourself, but drink in extreme moderation if alcohol is part of any celebration or social gathering. Above all, don't drink and drive.
